Cosmetic Dentistry

Beautiful Smiles Can be Healthy Too!

Smiling is one of life’s greatest pleasures. It makes us feel good and connects us emotionally to those around us. But if you are embarrassed by your smile, nothing feels as good as it should. We’d like to help. Our cosmetic dental techniques can give you a new smile that not only enhances your appearance and makes your mouth healthier, it might just change your life! Cosmetic dentistry can help you look younger, boost your confidence and renew your sense of self-esteem.

Veneers are thin sheets of porcelain that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility. When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or other staining agents. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.

Minimal-prep veneers are a less invasive method to whiten, straighten, close gaps, and repair chips. These veneers are made from ultra strong and stain-resistant porcelain, so strong that they can be made as thin as contact lenses. Because they are so thin, they do not require removal of tooth structure and have been proven to last and last… yet they are reversible, making them a terrific option for many patients.

The way your gums frame your smile is just as important as the quality of the frame displaying an artist’s painting. That’s why we offer gum contouring – to allow your gums to perfectly display your smile instead of covering it up. Using a laser and a topical anesthetic, Dr. Cagle quickly reshapes the gum line, creating an even more beautiful you!

Recontouring is an artful and conservative treatment. Through tooth contouring we can quickly and painlessly improve your appearance and create a more harmonious smile by reshaping chipped or misaligned tooth edges.

Bonding is an alternative to veneers, and can be used as a restorative procedure for teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored, or misaligned. To prepare your tooth, we lightly etch the surface and apply a bonding liquid. Once the liquid sets, Dr. Cagle applies a resin material and sculpts it into the desired shape. After the resin has cured, we will sculpt and polish the tooth again to bring it to a lustrous and natural shape and shine. In one simple visit, bonding can improve the appearance of a tooth significantly.

We offer two kinds of whitening: in-office and take-home. The main difference between the two types is the time it takes to complete the treatment. In-office whitening can lighten teeth up to eight shades in a single, one-hour appointment. Take-home whitening usually takes place over about two weeks for fifteen minutes or more a day.
